If what I was going through was also affecting other moms. If my daughter was getting what she needed. I had no Idea what I was doing. sometimes still don't but I have given up on research.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08575960791549325143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2845595208238712746.post-69895121374366231262017-07-03T16:16:20.404-07:002017-07-03T16:16:20.404-07:00Thank you for sharing your experience. I similarly have and I'm currently in a better place, but it didn't happen over night. Some of the things that helped me in a mighty ways...finding a Christian counselor who understood both the mental/emotional component and the spiritual and could point me to the truth when the lies were so overwhelming, educating myself about OCD, and opening up to others that I could trust. Medication was also helpful for a season and I remain open to it if needed in the future. Ultimately, this painful experience has deepened my faith in Jesus and made me a compassionate advocate for mental health. So good can come from even the darkest pit. One book I recommend is Can Christianity Cure OCD by Ian Osborn. I admit the title is cringeworthy, but it was very truthfilled. And ultimately I think it was me realizing I could trust God when I couldn't trust my own thoughts that saved me.AmandaBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01405512135558061822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2845595208238712746.post-36241955590879070582017-06-28T07:28:27.527-07:002017-06-28T07:28:27.527-07:00Thank you so much for this. Can you write a post about what things helped you? I know you mention therapy and medication but can you go more into detail. I've seen a few therapists and they have different views on how to deal with the thoughts. Any books or tips you found helpful?
